NewMark Merrill Companies to Open T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods At Stratford Crossing in Bloomingdale, Illinois
Woodland Hills, CA. (July 26th, 2021) – NewMark Merrill Companies, a Woodland Hills, California-based retail shopping center owner, announced leases for T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods stores, representing 49,000 square feet, are set to open next month at the Stratford Crossing shopping center, a 361,074-square-foot neighborhood shopping center located at the Southwest corner of Gary Avenue and Schick Road, in Bloomingdale, Illinois. The expected grand opening date for this new location is set on Thursday, August 12th.
TJ Maxx is one of the country’s largest soft-good retailers with over 1,200 stores nationwide. HomeGoods, also part of the T.J. Maxx Companies, is one of the largest chains of off-price home furnishings and fashion in the Country. The new stores are replacing over half of a former K-Mart building complementing the other national, regional, and local tenants who service the Bloomingdale community.
“As the pandemic recedes and life returns to a “new normal,” we continue to see positive signs that retail tenants are excited about the future,” said Sandy Sigal, NewMark Merrill President and Chief Executive Officer. “Across our portfolio and in our Chicago area properties, we are seeing tons of leasing activity, tours and overall interest. Additionally, we are at or extremely close to pre-pandemic levels for consumer traffic at our centers. We are so excited to add two quality retail leaders like T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods to Stratford Crossing, and to the Village of Bloomingdale. This community center has already established itself as the place to visit, shop, eat, work-out, and create memories, and with these two tenants this location becomes an even better asset to the neighborhood.”
Stratford Crossing is anchored by Mariano’s, PetSmart, Hobby Lobby and now T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods, and features an outstanding tenant mix of key local, regional, and national retailers including Party City, Planet Fitness, Shoe Carnival, and Outback. The center is ideally located at Gary Avenue and Schick Road with over 49,000 daily cars and 103,000 people within three miles of the center.
