Mer Young

A descendant of the Chichimeca and Mescalero-Chiricahua Apache tribes, and born into a family of artists and musicians, Mer Young celebrates Indigenous, First Nation and native cultures, especially women of color in collages, drawings and paintings.  

Her Calipop! Multimedia mural at Anaheim Town Center is intended to inspire people to lift their spirits — and encourage them to work for change. 

Based in Long Beach, California, Mer’s public art can be found in the city’s East Village Arts District and the Sixth and Ninth Districts, as well as in Glendale, Anaheim, Pasadena and the Art District of Los Angeles.
